Mission and Vision

Vision Statement

The Roseville Joint Union High School District library program strives to foster a positive school experience and sense of community by placing students at the center of everything we do.

Mission Statement

 Through our library services and programming, we

  • establish a “sense” of place for students to interact, communicate, and collaborate with one another,

  • forge key relationships and partnerships with teachers to plan and deliver meaningful instruction,   

  • create inclusive and accessible collections that celebrate diverse experiences in order to inspire the reading lives of students and staff,

  • enable students’ beliefs in their own ability to seek and use information successfully,

  • contribute to students’ rigorous application of skills, knowledge, and behaviors necessary for thriving in today’s global society, and

  • empower students to practice intellectual freedom, explore, innovate, and take risks in order to develop the skills necessary to be college and career-ready and self-directed, lifelong learner

Mrs. Hernandez

Library Media Technician, Mrs. Hernandez

You may have seen Mrs. Hernandez out and about on campus in years past.  But she's moved inside the library! She is now our Library Media Technician, lending her help and expertise to our students.  Mrs. Hernandez will be directly working with students and the Technology Department when chromebook issues arise.  She will also take the lead in textbook distribution.  And, of course, she is able to help students who drop by the library to check out books.

District Librarian, Zenia Treto

As District Librarian, I oversee Antelope High School,  Roseville High School, Roseville Pathways, and West Park High School libraries. I have been an educator for twenty years, and was Teacher Librarian at Granite Bay High School before stepping into this role. I am currently a graduate student at San Jose State University, where I am earning my Masters in Library and Information Science in Spring 2023. 

Prior to pursuing my teacher librarian credential, I spent my career teaching Social Science, English, and English Language Development.  Librarianship is my passion because it gives me the opportunity to support students and teachers.  I enjoy teaching research methods, online safety, and reader's advisory to our Tigers.
