Academic Planning Process

2026/2027 School Year

The Academic Planning process includes several steps which are outlined below. These steps are part of a comprehensive process that gives students the knowledge and skills necessary to develop a 4 year plan of courses that meet graduation and college entrance requirements, and meet college and career goals. 

Step 1A: Please review the Academic Planning presentation.

Step 1B: View the current RHS COURSE CATALOG to see what courses may be offered for the 26/27 school year 

Step 1C: Review the RHS Course List, a one page handout that lists all courses offered in each subject area for the 26/27 school year.  

Step 2: Your grade specific Academic Planning worksheet will be give to you by your 2nd period teacher on January 12. If you need an extra copy, please click on the links below that corresponds to your current grade level.

9th Freshman10th sophomores11th Juniors

Step 3: Course input in Aeries: Input the courses you want to take next school year into your Aeries student portal. 

After you sign in Aeries, click on 'Classes' and then 'Course Requests Entry'. for step by step instructions, please see slides 19-26 in the Academic Planning presentation. 

Input classes into Aeries by Wednesday, January 21, by 11:59 PM. 

Step 4 : Turn in your completed Academic Planning Sheet to one of the following classes by Thursday January 22: 

  • 9th grade students - PE 9, Health or ELD teacher
  • 10th grade students - English, History, or ELD teacher
  • 11th grade students - English, History, or ELD teacher 

If you are not enrolled in one of the above courses in the spring term, please turn in your sheet to your 2nd period teacher. 

Step 5: You will meet with your school counselor to review your transcript and course selections during the months of January or February. These meeting will occur in one of your classes and will be scheduled with your teacher. There is no need to make an appointment with your counselor. 

Step 6: If your are requesting Teacher Aide, Office Aide, or Off Campus for the 2026-2027 school year, please complete the form below:
