Culinary Techniques
This second level Culinary Techniques class will allow students to begin to expand their ability in the kitchen by using techniques which they learned in Introduction To Food And Beverage as well as learning new methods that they will be able to utilize in the culinary classroom. Students will expand their abilities in the kitchen and improve their skills learned from the Introduction to Food and Beverages course. Students will be in the kitchen three times a week cooking various dishes featuring cuisines from around the world including French, Asian, Greek, Mexican, and many others. Students will also learn about the different countries and their cultures including the roots of their cooking and their people. Also, students will be able to go on field trips with the Advanced Culinary class including trips to The Cheesecake Factory, Institute of Technology, and Le Cordon Bleu. These trips will provide insight and possibilities for students to explore the culinary industry. Managers will provide advice to students who are interested in persuing the culinary field as a possible career. This course is directed more towards the cooking, or back of the house, aspect of the industry as opposed to Advanced Culinary which brings the management aspect of the restaurant business into cosideration. Culinary is a fantastic program for students who are unsure of thier future career plan as the restaurant business is a fast growing and opprotune career choice. Also this course is ideal for those who wish to simply expand their knowledge of food and ability to cook. We hope you choose Culinary Techniques as a class this year!
