College and Career Preparation
AVID students begin their college and career preparation in 9th grade. AVID students attend college fairs, visit college campuses, and receive instruction in completing college applications. Students experience guest speakers in various career fields and use online resources to research which colleges and careers are best suited to their needs, interests, and goals.
College Applications
AVID students begin building their college application in 9th grade. Students focus on understanding their transcript and planning their classes to support college goals. Students learn about developing skills through school and community involvement opportunities that promote leadership and service learning.
Financial Aid
AVID students learn about forms of financial aid. AVID 11 students research scholarships they qualify for. AVID 12 students receive individualized classroom instruction to complete financial aid forms and scholarship applications.
